Gondwana Care Trust Newsletter

“A future without vision looks like a long sinuous road.

A future without care and opportunities looks like an even longer treacherous road. Together the road can be smoother so let us have vision and care for one another.”

Special Edition Newsletter

July 2021

Picture1-1

Dear friends, sponsors, partners, and colleagues

This is a Special Edition Newsletter to highlight some of the past week’s events and give you some feedback on all your support and your trust towards our projects. We say it often, but we cannot do it alone.

With the help of extraordinary beings, we are able to extend a helping hand to so many and we are so thankful for every little bit we receive through your donations. In the first six months of 2021 (January - June), an estimated 117000 meals were served by our MealForTwo beneficiary organizations.

The meals donated in 2021 include the following staple food items:

· 1,50 tonne maize meal and oats

· 1,45 tonne bread flour

· 1,05 tonne pasta and rice

· 3,7 tonne fruits and veggies

· 3,6 tonne meat and chicken

We thank all our partners, who continually trust and support our projects. Together we can make a small difference and a positive change in someone’s life.

Due to the lack of funds this year, the Gondwana Care Trust has very limited resources and it is really challenging to add and support any new projects, besides adding beneficiaries to our MealForTwo Program.

Any contribution makes a difference – You can donate to our bank account or contact us via email if you wish to contribute food items.

Thank you for supporting the Gondwana Care Trust Projects.

These three organizations are based in Okahandja, Khomas Region. Together, they have managed to look after a vast majority of the children living in vulnerable conditions, and have delivered food parcels to homeless families, elderly people in need, and Covid-19 patients, as well as the medical staff, who are unable to regularly take time off for meals.

This is thanks to the dedication of many people around Namibia, who give their time to care for others. We thank you for your support, so that we can assist with food deliveries and other goods such as clothing, blankets, and hygienic products where possible.

This newsletter is dedicated to all those, who take the time to care for their community, for those in need, and to those, who find themselves in difficult environments on a daily basis. We cannot thank you enough for your dedication and your care.

PAY Feeding Project provides 145 meals and sandwiches daily.

We serve warm, nourishing meals that include starch, beef or chicken stew, and vegetables. When the children leave, they receive a sandwich and a juice. We wouldn't be able to achieve this without the support of the MealForTwo Program, where we get all our dry food staples, vegetables, and chicken every month. We have served around 11 600 meals since February this year.

With schools closed due to Covid-19, PAY has continued reaching its beneficiaries through a food distribution program. We distribute 105 food packets twice a month, who wouldn't be able to put a meal on the table without our support.

Number of food distributions in June and July: 2

Estimated reach: 102 Families
