Dear friends, sponsors, partners, and colleagues

We thank all our partners who continually trust and support our projects. We cannot do it alone and together we can make a small difference and a positive change in someone’s life.

If you want to partner in our projects and help us empower our communities, please contact us.

Covid-19 regulations still greatly limit all opportunities.

We received multiple requests from so many young graduates looking for financial support so they can finish their university year. So many children cannot return to school due to lack of funds.

The Gondwana Care Trust has very limited resources this year and it is really challenging to add and support any new projects, besides adding beneficiaries to our MealForTwo Program.

The MealForTwo Program is a life saving project for many vulnerable individuals and children living in difficult situations.

Any contribution makes a difference – you can also donate through our bank account or contact us via email if you can contribute food items.

Thank you!

Kitchen of Hope

Windhoek

Ms Natalia Almeida Lepen

infosavenamibia@gmail.com

African Unicorn is a non-profit voluntary association, founded on June 1st, 2017. This project was born from the belief of its founders, Mr and Ms Lepen, that all children of the world are unique, rare and magical, just like the unicorn. It aims to support disadvantaged children in Namibia, based on universal values of dignity, protection and love. Part of the African Unicorn is the Kitchen of Good Hope; which serves a meal to almost 150 children twice a week at the facilities of the Methodist church in Katutura.

Kitchen of Good Hope has recently integrated two soup kitchens through the network #Savenamibia in Havana and in Damara Location.

Kitchen of Good Hope is a beneficiary of MealForTwo and with the addition of other soup kitchens, the Gondwana Care Trust increased the assistance for their last order to N$10 000.00 thanks to the sponsorship of Wecke & Voigts Group.

The below order will assist each kitchen to operate twice a week and will feed about 250 children and elderly persons each time for more than a month.

/Khomxadare Community ECD Centre: Otjimbingwe

Ms Eldina Gaweses

eldinagaweses367@gmail.com (please note: very poor internet in that area)

081 648 54 09

/Khomxadare, situated about 60km outside Karibib, is an ECD Centre that provides education to vulnerable children between 3 and 6 years of age. The centre was opened in 1994. Attached to the centre, the soup kitchen provides a meal four times a week to 135 children and about 20 elderly people.

This Centre has provided support and meals for many families that have been affected by the pandemic. This rural area has very little financial resources and many have lost their income. Eldina contacted the Gondwana Care Trust for support during the lockdown so that she could continue to provide a meal to many people in need.

If you want to support the /Khomxadare center, please use the reference for your donation. Gondwana Care Trust, through MealForTwo, assisted Eldina with groceries and some masks to hand out to the community.

Back to School Project - Christmas Bags 2021

Schools, hostels, orphanages and OVC Centres send us their school lists by September/October. The list must include:

Name of the child, gender, age, grade/year, and if any special needs so we can pack and personalize the bag.

smiling care trust resize

We have a few schools for children with special needs and it is important to be aware of these so we can pack the right toy and stationery kit for each child.

For more information on the “Back to School Christmas Bag”, please read our May Newsletter

The Gondwana Care Trust has limited funds and the Back to School Project has suffered greatly from the lack of tourism due to the pandemic. The “Christmas Bags” are sold to raise funds towards the project in all the Gondwana lodges’ curio shops.

care trust school bags

Many learners have not returned to schools due to lack of funds in 2021, so more than ever, in order to encourage children to stay at schools and pursue their education, we would like to distribute as many bags as we can at the end of the year.

We distributed 2378 Bags in 2019 and we distributed 2554 Bags in 2020!

Please help us match or even distribute more bags in 2021!
